Mirage

This years game for the womengamejam2025 the theme was "nothing is as it seems" or something similar
i made this in pico 8 on my own and had quite the help with code from chagpt4.- yeah,shame on me. but i had forgot everything i learnt of pico 8 and wanted to do something simple to help me remember what it learnt...but then..things escalated and got too complicated and so chatgpt helped debug and rewrite some conditions i messed up the lua for and much more. but i plan to make more games without AIs help. it is just i only read tutorials for cartain aprts of mechanics in nerdy teachers (such a genious person)and so needed to troubleshoot more as my game is not from a tutorial.

now,at the following weekend ,i finished more or less what i wanted to do for the jam XD

experiment to learn more about what could make the relationship of these cuties work.

one thing optional in the jam was amking a one screen game :D thats why i did not make a cover.

only if things get too hard  do the nuke reset.you have been warned.
(it does not explode but it resets ALL THE GAME,all the counters to origin)

i am so tired TT_TT such a simple thing took so much out of me..i wonder if someday i will be able to code my little cute games in pico 8 alone.notice this is not as cute as i wouldl ike.i decided on this idea to respect the jams theme.

rocks---obstacles life puts to avoid people from finding each other
holes---depressive and traumatic experiences that make you self sabotage
the hearts mean how you need to cultivate each others love and how capable you are of loving others yourself.

and yes,l ife sometimes is impossible and "unfair" and so i let hearts spawn outside the play zone.
